On Friday, May 31st, the League of Women Voters of New Canaan awarded the League of Women Voters Kathryn Tohir Citizenship Award to two outstanding New Canaan High School Seniors, Emily Shizari and Max Fonss. Every year we give this to two students who have excelled in the study of government and demonstrated a commitment to motivating other students to become responsible citizens. Emily is headed to the University of Richmond, where she intends to study History, and Max is off to William and Mary where he will major in Computer Programming and Data Science with a minor in Government.
